CLEVELAND, OH – July 16, 2025 – The Greater Cleveland Food Bank (GCFB) celebrated the unveiling of a new truck for an agency partner in Greater Cleveland, made possible by a one-time public investment of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the State of Ohio. The new vehicle will directly support the vital work of Iglesias Nueva Vida – Free Methodist Church.
The unveiling ceremony brought together GCFB leadership, Councilwoman Jasmin Santana, and representatives from Iglesia Nueva Vida, including Pastor Jose Reyes. This significant investment will greatly enhance the church’s capacity and efficiency in distributing food, ensuring more families and individuals across the region receive essential nutrition.
“Our 20-year partnership with Iglesia Nueva Vida is a testament to their incredible dedication,” said Jessica Morgan, Chief Programs Officer at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. “This church has consistently been a beacon of support, distributing over 392,000 meals in the last fiscal year and reaching thousands in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood. Their commitment, including their selfless response to last year’s August tornadoes, continues to inspire us.”
Iglesia Nueva Vida has been a valued partner of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for decades, providing critical food access to the Clark-Fulton community. Just last year, Iglesia Nueva Vida provided nearly 500,000 pounds of food, 79% of which was labeled as nutritious, to thousands of community members.
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank continues to strengthen its network across our six-county service territory and Cuyahoga County, thanks to our public-private partnerships.
